This book is one of the books released during the book voucher campaign ”Ich schenke dir eine Geschichte’, a Germany-wide campaign to promote reading amongst children in the 4th and 5th Grade. It is written in German.

About the Story :

4 children win a completion and, as a prize, are invited to test rides at an amusement park.  It is a new and unusual experience for the kids, as, in the past, they have visited amusement parks just as ‘regular visitors’. But this time is different. This time they are ‘ special guests’ with the privilege of being the first to try the rides. The kids would have to spend an entire day with strangers, and each has apprehensions. But the excitement of the rides and the food & drinks overshadows these thoughts.

Contrary to their expectation of a relaxed and fun-filled day, the day holds dangers and adventures. Different technical problems at the park lead to unexpected situations and an adventure of an entirely different kind – one that no one had even remotely conceived and one that would bring the children to their wit’s end. In the end, the mystery behind the unexpected technical problems is solved, and they end their day with a surprise gift from the park owner and, of course, a lasting friendship!

The book is appropriate for 4th/5th graders ( up to 11 years) The language is simple, and the story is engaging.
