Recipe for Orange Cake

This is a recipe for a delicious sweet and citrusy orange cake.

Ingredients
  

  • 350 gm Refined Flour
  • 250 gm Unsalted Butter
  • 5 Eggs
  • 50 ml Orange Syrup
  • 100 gm Candied Orange peels
  • 250 gm Powdered Sugar
  • 15 gm Baking Powder
  • 50 ml Water
  • 5 gm Salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180 deg C for 10 minutes.
  • Mix refined flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.
  • Sieve the mixture.
  • Beat the eggs.
  • Add butter and mix well.
  • Add this mixture to the dry ingredients mix.
  • Add water. Mix well.
  • Add Candied orange peels and orange syrup. You may feel that the batter has curdled a bit. Dont worry. Transfer it to a greased and dusted baking dish.
  • Bake at 180 deg C for approximately 35 minutes OR till a toothpick when inserted, comes out clean.
  • After the cake is baked, let it cool at room temperature.
  • Dust some powdered sugar on top and serve.
