Recipe for Quark Sandwich
Some days back, while researching products in German Supermarkets, I was quite intrigued by one product called Quark. On reading more about it, I understood that this product is very similar to hung curd. I wrote about quark and other fresh cheeses in German Supermarkets in my article. This research also inspired me to do a small experiment in my kitchen and make an Indian-inspired sandwich using quark. The recipe I am talking about is the Dahi sandwich.
In India, the usage of curd is much higher than that of yoghurt. Curd is used in many Indian recipes. One such recipe is the Dahi sandwich, in which curd is hung overnight. The next day, the thick curd is combined with vegetables and spices and stuffed between slices of bread and toasted. I did the same thing but replaced hung curd with Quark.
This sandwich is absolutely delicious and is so easy to make that once you try it, it will become your go-to recipe for your/kids’ lunchbox or even for a quick dinner when you want to eat something homemade, made with the least effort and yet nutritious.
