A day Trip to Nationales Auto Museum, Loh Collection, Germany
If you are a car fan and live near Frankfurt, Bonn, Cologne, Kassel, or other nearby towns in Germany, you must visit the Nationales Auto Museum.
During spring vacation, we took a day trip to this museum as a family and totally loved the experience.
Since we live in Darmstadt, a city south of Frankfurt, and this museum is a short two-hour car ride away (145 km), we were able to make a day trip to it comfortably.
About Nationales Auto Museum
The Nationales Auto Museum, located in the town of Dietzhölztal in Germany, is private collection owned by Friedhelm Loh, a German entrepreneur. It has been open to the public since July 23, 2023. The car museum includes vintage cars, racing cars, prototypes and classics. Friedhelm Loh, who has been collecting cars for over 35 years, acquired the industrial site, previously used for Ironworks, in 2015 and converted the large industrial hall into a car museum, preserving as much of the historic structure and industrial character as possible.

The extensive collection comprises cars from the car makers Mercedes, Bugatti, Aston Martin, Ferrari, and many more.

Some of the highlights of the museum are:
Benz Patent-Motorwagen Victoria, the first four-wheeled vehicle from the German mechanical engineering and automobile company Benz & Co.

Lincoln Continental

Ferrari F1 2000

Mercedes AMG F1 W10 Eq Power

There is plenty of parking space outside the museum, which is free for the first hour and costs 1 Euro for each subsequent hour.
