Spicy Chicken Wings

Spicy Chicken Wings

Today’s recipe: Spicy Chicken Wings are my go-to recipe for evening parties. They are perfect starters with cocktails, beer, and even hard drinks. They are easy to make, and you can do a large part of the preparation beforehand.

Whenever I plan to serve Spicy Chicken Wings for a party at home, I marinate the chicken and keep it in the fridge. I also prepare the coating sauce in advance and keep it in the kitchen. When the guests arrive, I pop the marinated chicken wings in the air fryer. Once they are done, i.e., when they are cooked and turn crispy, I add the sauce and toss it together. And that’s it! With little effort and time in the kitchen, a delicious party favourite is ready to be served.

Method to make Spicy Chicken Wings

Preparing the Marinade

Wash and pat dry the chicken wings.

Transfer them to a mixing bowl.

Add salt, black pepper powder, white pepper powder, onion powder, paprika powder, cayenne pepper powder and baking soda. Mix well so that all the wings are nicely coated with the spices.

Cover and let it rest in the fridge for at least an hour. If you can leave it for 4-5 hours, that’s even better.

Preparing the coating sauce

In a pan, heat butter, honey and green chilli sauce on medium heat.

When the butter melts, add chives. Fry for a few seconds.

Turn off the heat, and when it cools, add lemon juice and lemon zest.

Keep this sauce aside.

Final Steps

Transfer the marinated chicken wings to the air fryer basket. Air fry them for 20 minutes at 200 degrees C (After 10 minutes, toss them once and then, continue air frying for another 10 minutes).

Once the chicken wings are done, transfer them to a mixing bowl.

Add the coating sauce and toss it so that the sauce coats all the wings.

Transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve.
