Avocado Cream
Avocado Cream is a delicious spread made with avocado, sour cream and a few basic ingredients. It tastes great with toasted bread. In this post, I have shared two variants of this recipe. The first is a basic one, and the second has more ingredients. You will understand it better as you read the recipes.

Equipment Needed:
The first step is to grind avocados and sour cream to a fine paste. For that, you need a mixer. Once the paste is ready, you transfer it to a mixing bowl, in which you combine it with a few more ingredients. All the vegetables that are added to the paste must be finely chopped. If you have good chopping skills, a good-quality knife and cutting board will do. I prefer using a food processor. It makes things fast and is perfect for finely chopping vegetables.
Avocado Cream Recipe 1:
Ingredients:
- 2 Medium-Sized Ripe Avocados
- 100 gm Sour Cream
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- Salt; to taste
- 2 tbsp Finely Chopped Fresh Coriander Leaves
- 1 tbsp Finely Chopped Pickled Jalapeños
- 1 tsp Finely Chopped Red Paprika
- ½ tsp Red Chilli Flakes
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
Method:
- Add avocado pulp and sour cream to a mixie jar.

- Add lemon juice and salt.

- Grind it to a fine paste.

- Transfer this paste to a serving dish.

- Add finely chopped coriander leaves.

- Add red chilli flakes.

- Garnish with olive oil, chopped red paprika and chopped jalapeños.

You can spread this on toasted bread and top it with finely chopped veggies such as onions, tomatoes, paprika, and boiled eggs or steamed chicken.

INSTRUCTIONS
Recipe 2: Avocado Cream

Some Notes about Ingredient Sourcing in Germany:
- Avocados: In Germany, you can buy them individually or in a pack of 3-4. I prefer buying the pack because, in terms of cost, the pack is more reasonable. Buy the ones that are green and firm. After bringing them home, remove them from their packaging and let them rest in your fruit basket at room temperature for a few days. Check them every day. Then the skin darkens, and they feel soft; they are ready to be consumed. Cut them from the middle, remove the seed and separate the flesh from the peel with a spoon. It comes out quite easily. Then, mash/chop the fruit as per your preference.
- Sour Cream: I used Schmand with 24% Fat. You can learn more about cream-based products in Germany here.
- Onion, Tomatoes, Paprika and Lemon: They are all easily available in supermarkets in Germany.
- Fresh Coriander Leaves: Available in Indian and Turkish shops in Germany.
- Salt and Red Chilli Flakes: All are available in supermarkets in Germany. Read my article about Salt here.
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Called natives Olivenöl extra. Easily available in supermarkets. Read my article about Oils here.
- Pickled Jalapeños and Gherkins: Available in all supermarkets. They look like these:
