9 Delicious Beetroot Recipes for Nutrient-Packed Meals | Daily Reveries
After successfully harvesting beetroot from my terrace garden in Germany, I am excited to share 9 of my tried-and-tested recipes with this lovely vegetable.
Beetroot is rich in antioxidants, fibre, and iron. It is also rich in nitrates. Beetroot juice is said to improve blood flow and is hence preferred before exercising. Because of its numerous benefits, including beetroot in your meals is a good idea.
Availability of Beetroot in Germany:
Fresh Beetroot is available in some supermarkets in Germany. In my city, I find them easily in Rewe in the vegetable section of the supermarket.

Beetroot is also available in cooked form. It looks like this. It is commonly available in most supermarkets.

Beetroot is also available in jars, in which case it is combined with salt, vinegar etc.

You can also grow beetroot in your garden or terrace during summer. I have already shared the article about growing beetroot at home.

With all these options, beetroot is easy to include in your diet. Now, let’s check out 9 of my tried and tested recipes with beetroot:
- Beetroot Poriyal
This popular side dish from the southern states of India goes perfectly with steamed rice and dal. It can even be a healthy and light evening snack. The recipe is quite easy, and the dish can be prepared in no time. Check out the recipe here.

Patra is a popular snack recipe from the western part of India. It is traditionally made with colocasia leaves.
