Das Fürstliche Gartenfest- A garden festival near Darmstadt
Today I am writing about a Garden festival called ‘Das Fürstliche Gartenfest ‘ that will take place in Hofgut Kranishstein in Darmstadt from 5th to 7th May 2023. Das Fürstliche Gartenfest translates to ‘ The princely garden festival.’ For the past 15 years, this fest has been taking place in Langen. From last year, i.e. Yr.2022, it started taking place in Darmstadt.
What can one expect at the Fest?
Gartenfest is an event where plenty of stalls from various vendors sell products ranging from plants, garden grills, furniture, equipment, etc., to speciality cheese, relishes, and dips. In addition, there are stalls for carpets, garments and handmade jewellery, and other decorative articles. There are plenty of food stalls too that offer a variety of food, from traditional german foods like flammkuchen and sausages to hot dogs, ice creams, and crepes. There is plenty of seating arrangement to have a leisurely lunch or even take an afternoon nap!
In addition to shopping and eating, there are other experiences too on offer ( mostly curated around the theme of equestrian sport ), out of which I’m listing down some of the prominent ones:
- Musical performances by various artists
- Equestrian vaulting demonstration (Voltigiersport vorführung)
- Dressage (S- Dressur ), Drag-hunt demonstaton(Schauschleppe)
- Hobby Horsing for Children
- Art and craft, where children can make a horse using craft material (Steckenpferd basteln)
- Stall by Bioversum, where insects and seeds can be seen under the microscope and other activities related to science and nature.
