Every year, the world celebrates International Children’s Day on the 20th of September. Darmstadt celebrates this special day for children by organizing a fest at the city centre. Typically, the fest takes place on the weekend following International Children’s Day. In 2023, the fest was organized on the 24th of September.

Various stalls are set up, including games, face painting, arts and crafts, food, etc. In addition, government bodies that focus on families and children also set up stalls to create awareness. Stage performances, in which the little ones demonstrate their singing and dancing skills, are also a highlight of the day.

The event typically starts in the morning and continues till evening. It mainly focuses on small children ( under 12 years of age) and the activities on offer are created keeping that age group in mind.
